Hey Readers! It's been a while since I've been active on my personal blog, and for that I am sorry! Thank you to those of you who have reached out to me to ask about Fulbright related info though! I am always more than happy to help anyone out with questions! In this post I want to share about my recent decision to pursue my Master's in International Education. It's been something I've always wanted to study and I am finally ready to go home and start the path towards my dream job. My Dream Job... It is my hope to be able to work in the field of International Education. I would love to work at the university level and help others study abroad and work closely with international students onsite whether that be in the United States or abroad. I personally had such a a fulfilling and successful time abroad and would love to help others flourish just as much as I did as an exchange student. I also worked as an International Student Assistant for the International Student Services Office on campus and got to help out international students on campus. Unfortunately for me, in order to start my career in this field I need to obtain my Master's. I've talked to people I know who work in this field and they've all told me that a Master's is necessary and it's hard to get an entry level job in this world otherwise. I am excited though to go back to school and study something I am passionate about! Where Will I Go To School? I have applied and hear back from two schools with great International Education programs! The first one being the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. It's a professional graduate program and is based in Monterey, California. What drew me to this school was the interesting program and extra financial aid and scholarships that they offer students. The second school I applied to is the University of Pennsylvania and after waiting a grueling 6 weeks I was told that I was accepted into the International Educational Development program! I have to admit I was stunned to recieve admission into this school as it's such a prestigious and competitive university. I am also in love with the program offered at UPenn and love the immersive internship opportunity that they require of all students. Plus, it's in Philadelphia and not too far from home. Decisions... I have to make a decision soon. I have been reaching out to friends and alumni who have gone to both schools to heat about their experience in order to make a more informed decision. I have also been attending online open houses for both schools to learn more about their programs. I'll make my decision soon and let you all know! I also plan on making a blog post on my application process for both respective schools. Have you ever gone to the Middlebury Institute of International Studies or the University of Pennsylvania? Let me know in the comments down below!
